It’s Plastic Free July, and to get things started (a little late) the Hope lab is sharing a 31-day swaps sheet that was generated at the plastics in the Environment Research Cluster @ University of Hull, where I used to work, created by the amazing #ClareyCollins

It’s packed with simple, everyday ideas to help us think about reducing our everyday plastic use—at home, at work, and beyond. While this sheet focuses on general tips, we’ll be sharing more lab-specific ideas throughout the month, swaps, ideas, thoughts and more. We are excited to hopefully host a guest seminar at the Scottish Oceans Institute from Clare later in the month to talk about sustainable practices in the lab and engage the wider school. This is more than about going plastic-free, we want people to take a moment to reflect and explore realistic ways we can cut down on waste in our daily routines and get rid of that pesky single use plastic, making our labs more sustainable.

Do you have any favourite swaps, pledges or thoughts to inspire?
